New Recipes to Try at Home

New Recipes to Try at Home

If you enjoy getting creative in your kitchen, you’re probably always on the lookout for new recipes to try at home.

Trying new recipes expands your experience and knowledge of what works. It also provides you the opportunity to make changes, experiment, and explore the combination of different ingredients. The more you explore, the more you discover.

Whether you’re replacing an ingredient in a classic recipe or contrasting two ingredients you believe will work well together, nothing tastes better than discovering something new to share with your family and friends.

To help you get started, we’ve gathered several new recipes to try at home.

Fried French Toast

Let’s just say that the full name of this dish is Fried French Toast with Vanilla Pastry Cream and Bourbon Flambe Apples. In one dish, you’ve got something fried with fruit and some bourbon on the side. Yes, please! And for breakfast? Get outta here!

Rather than sliced french toast that you’ve had in the past, this dish calls for hearty cubes of challah or brioche bread. Once dipped in an egg mixture, you dry the cubes up in some oil. They will be coated in cinnamon sugar when they are done. Serve them with a spoonful of pastry cream along with a mound of your whisky apples. A drizzle of bourbon butter and maple syrup – and you are waking yourself up to the best day ever.

Peanut Butter Oat Bars

While we would all love to eat fried french toast every day for breakfast, we’d still like to fit in our pants. That stuff is much too good not to eat too much. To balance everything out, what about some super easy peanut butter oat bars?

This 5-ingredient recipe is easy to make and can be great to make ahead of time. Eat them for breakfast, a mid-morning snack, or even an afternoon pick-me-up. They are a great option for added protein and a boost of energy.

You cook peanut butter, Nutella, and your oats over medium-low heat until they become well mixed and easy to mold. Then, pour them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and freeze them. Top with melted chocolate.

Three Cheese Stove Top Mac & Cheese

Now, this is the type of macaroni and cheese you should be making. Leave that powdery stuff for the little kids. This dish is so cheesy and creamy, with a great combination of smoked gouda, cheddar cheese, and parmesan cheese that you will want to dive right in. Seriously – it is that good. Make it a little more fun with pasta shell noodles – which have that little crevice to store extra cheesy goodness with every bite.

Simple. Delicious. And your entire family will love it.

Pan-Roasted Chicken Breast with Sweet Potato Puree

Who doesn’t love sweet and savory flavors all in one dish? That’s what this dish is all about. You’ve got the pan-roasted chicken breasts that have been brined with sugar, honey, turmeric, salt, and a bay leaf. As you cook it, you are keeping in the juices.

The sweet potato puree with its flavor – and a dash of cayenne – makes a fantastic sidekick to the flavors in the chicken. And just when you thought it could not possibly get any better, you’ve got buttery toasted cashews that will top off the chicken and add even more depth to the flavor.

You can serve this as-is and it will be welcomed and enjoyed. Or, you can add a little bit of green to the plate with some veggies, such as asparagus, and a few micro greens on top.

Steak, Mashed Potatoes, & Red Wine Sauce

Ready to impress someone? This is the dish to do it. You can’t really go wrong with steak and mashed potatoes – well unless you’re serving vegans (keep reading to learn how to impress vegans, too). Anyways, back to the steak.

This dish takes comfort food to the next level. With fresh thyme, garlic, shallot, and butter – the stovetop steaks will be juicy and delicious. And, totally impressive. The secret in these mashed potatoes is the truffle oil, giving you the option to add as much as you’d like. When served with the red wine sauce made with Merlot, it makes an incredible dish.

Gluten-Free, Vegan Chocolate Cheesecake

Jumping into desserts, let’s just say – don’t knock it until you try it. We aren’t trying to be cliche, but this cheesecake is delicious. It is light, airy, and it satisfies the sweet tooth and the chocolate cravings. The crust is made with chocolate cookies and vegan butter. And the cheesecake filling includes dark chocolate, vegan cream cheese, cashews, monk fruit sugar, and more.

Plant-based and gluten-free eating is becoming more and more mainstream – which means the rest of us need to either adapt to changes or at least be open-minded. There is nothing wrong with leaving the animals alone while you enjoy dessert. Everyone dining at your table – including yourself – will love the finished product. And, for the naysayers? They won’t even know unless you tell them!
